Experienced Customer Service

Bridgett’s ongoing support means that you are much more likely to get a human voice answering your call and much less likely to have interruptions during your inspection. Bridgett has multiple years experience working as an administrator, including for a local Real Estate Brokerage, and she is able to use that expertise to guide you through the sometimes chaotic process of booking an inspection within a limited timeline.

Trained and Educated

Global Property Inspections is one of the few franchise organizations that is accredited as a training institution by the National Certificate Authority. In addition to obtaining training and continuing education from GPI, John has pursued additional education and ongoing training from local colleges as well as his three associations:

  • CRESNET offers frequent seminars and workshops on HVAC, building envelope, and building science, all relating to the most recent advances in energy efficient building practices.
  • INTERNACHI offers an extensive online library of resources and training courses that relate to all aspects of the home inspection industry
  • PHPIC offers access to seminars and training that cover topics ranging from the future of provincial licensing of the home inspection industry to identifying grow-ops.  John serves on PHPIC’s Strategic Planning Committee.

Meaningful Certifications:

  • Building Science Thermographer (CBST) - Infrared Training Center (FLIR) and the Building Science Institute
  • Energy Advisor (CEA) – Natural Resources Canada as an Energy Advisor (CEA). In December 2009, John attended the “Train the Trainer” session in Ottawa which prepares instructors to train Energy Advisor candidates.
  • BA degree - Northland College, an Environmental/Liberal Arts School in northern Wisconsin

Experience

John has personally spent multiple years living in each of the following types of homes:

  • A 120-year-old farm house
  • A 90-year-old Edwardian Foursquare
  • A 60-year-old 1.5 story
  • A 40-year-old bungalow
  • A 25-year-old two-story
  • A semi-detached with a flat roof
  • A mobile home with a crawlspace
  • New Home (2010)

These experiences have allowed John to gain insight into the ongoing maintenance issues that can accompany each of these types of homes.

Worried about grow-ops?:  As well as attending a formal day-long seminar that included training by the RCMP and Ottawa Police Drug Squad, John has had the privilege of a one-on-one tour of a former grow-op house with a local law enforcement officer (WRPS).

Held to High Standards: John follows the Standards of Practice of the Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors.

Fully Insured: We carry Errors and Omissions (E&O) and general liability insurance.

Locally Owned and Operated: As a locally-owned and operated company, we have a direct stake in making the community grow and prosper.
